The Ryman Auditorium was the vision of Captain Thomas Ryman and first made it Nashville debut in 1892. After quickly working its way up to “the Mother Church of Country Music,” it was left vacant in 1974 because the Grand Ole Opry relocated to the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center. In 1994, the Ryman Auditorium was restored to its rightful music venue where it hosted everyone from James Brown and Patsy Cline to Sheryl Crow and Shania Twain. Today it continues to be one of Nashville’s foremost music hotspots.
