You don’t have to be in Athens to visit the Parthenon anymore because the Nashville Parthenon is a proud centerpiece in Centennial Park, which also hosts a 42 ft. re-creation of Athena in a perfect duplicate of le original. Built in 1897 for Tennessee’s Centennial Exposition, this Parthenon is the only full scale copy of the Athens Parthenon anywhere in the world. The replica serves as Nashville’s primary art museum which features a permanent collection of 63 painting of 19^th and 20^th century American artists and temporary exhibits and shows seasonally. This wonderful attraction is the perfect spot for a day of culture and is only 5 minutes away from downtown.
